Quick update on the 2012 Hunter TAFE heat of the National Campus Band Comp.
Due to an insufficient number of entrants, we've decided it isn't feasible to run this heat. The judges will be assessing applicants at their own local gigs and a band will be chosen to represent Hunter TAFE and progress to the next stage of the competition.

Any keen cyclists keen to have their say on cycleways and other issues related to bicycle users?
TAFE is linking up with Newcastle University Bicycle Users Group and Newcastle Cycleways Movement to help look at safer cycleway locations, help out with a Newcastle Bikefest event, and assist with other promotional and/or cycleway and transport related activities that may arise (eg. staff/student cycling surveys and/or initiating a Campus/TAFE cycling group).

Live At The Lunchbox, the weekly live music event at Newcastle Campus, is back for another year!!
Now in its 6th year, this event is run by the Hunter TAFE Music Department and supported by the Student Association. Performers from the Music courses, Theatre courses, and outside TAFE perform for your enjoyment every monday of semester from 12pm to 1pm in the courtyard outside the Bookshop at Newcastle Campus.
In addition to nationally recognised Newcastle-based artists such as Bob Corbett and Adam Miller, the event has featured a number of artists such as Benjalu, Kaylah Anne, and Jason Lowe while they were students before they went on to bigger and better things.
Head on down at lunchtime on Mondays to check it out. We've already heard a lot of good stuff from this year's batch of students so you just might hear something you like.
